No internship..
So I didn’t get the internship that I applied for this summer. I just found out yesterday, and I’m pretty sad about it now. I think it’s really just sinking in. It was with the nonprofit that I’ve wanted to work with for years. It was also a chance to get to live in Florida for a couple months. I’m feeling really inadequate lately. Between this and finding out that...

Hey, Louisiana folks!
Senate Bill 619, the 2012 School Bullying Prevention Act, has been introduced in the Senate by Senator Yvonne Dorsey and Senator Ward. Senate Bill 619 is the Senate version of House Bill 407 by Representative Patricia Smith. The 2012 School Bullying Prevention Act will make all Louisiana’s kids safer in their schools. Your butthole is going to have some hair too. And maybe your nipples. And your tummy. And where ever else.
Stretch marks. Those are a thing. Everyone gets ‘em. If you don’t, you probably don’t have skin.
Vaginas smell. Every vagina has a scent. Don’t worry about it! (Unless something seems...
YAY!

Getting Ready
to lecture on gender, ethnocentrism, and privilege. I’m covering a lot of ground here, but I think I have a pretty good flow. Now, I’m just hoping my students don’t get defensive or anything like that.

where i'm at about it
i’m realizing that i have a lot that i still need to figure out about myself, my gender and my identity in general. well, actually - i think i already knew that, but i’m acknowledging it now. i just need to remember, “life isn’t about finding yourself. life is about creating yourself” (george bernard shaw). it’s time to embrace the creation of me.

Feeling a Little Better..
even if only because last night was awesome. We played video games and did it, and then I fell asleep with my head on his arm. It was awesome. I don’t think he believed me when I said I liked it, but I did. I still feel pretty self-conscious about what I’m supposed to do, but he said what I do is ok.
